SQIFF modelled a sliding scale 'pay what you can' ticket tier scheme (FREE - £10), inspired by other grassroots festivals, which has since been implemented by Scottish festivals. Closed captioning was required for all films, and the Festival has a captioning team to assist in this. Events are BSL interpreted. Venues must be wheelchair accessible.
In 2016 it occupied over 11 acres on the lakeside of Krull Park, had representation from about 40 Scottish clans, and included cultural and athletic demonstrations as well as Celtic music.
