Colburn Park is located a short way south and east of the Mascoma River, whose generally east–west route is interrupted by a semicircular bend to the north, within which lies the center of Lebanon. The park's origin is in 1792, when the land was donated by Robert Colburn as the site of the community's meeting house (church and town hall).

Northwood Meadows State Park is a 674.5-acre (273.0 ha) state park in the town of Northwood, New Hampshire. Activities include nature walks, hiking, picnicking, fishing, non-motorized boating, biking, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing. [2] [3] [4] The wooded park has a vast wetlands area that includes a pond created by a dammed brook.
The 50-mile (80 km) Monadnock-Sunapee Greenway links the park to Pillsbury State Park and southern New Hampshire. The Sunapee-Ragged-Kearsarge Greenway, a 75-mile (121 km) loop trail (the "emerald necklace") links the park to Wadleigh State Park, Winslow State Park, and Rollins State Park as well as Gile, Kearsarge and Shadow Hill state forests and the Bog Mountain Wildlife Management Area.
The park is home to the New Hampshire Snowmobile Museum, Old Allenstown Meeting House, and the Richard Diehl Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) Museum, which are in historic buildings built by the Civilian Conservation Corps. [6] In 1985 and 2000, the remains of a total of four female bodies, one adult and three children, were found in the park.
