The Rosetta Stone is a stele of granodiorite inscribed with three versions of a decree issued in 196 BC during the Ptolemaic dynasty of Egypt, on behalf of King Ptolemy V Epiphanes. The top and middle texts are in Ancient Egyptian using hieroglyphic and Demotic scripts, respectively, while the bottom is in Ancient Greek.

As Rosetta Stone finally makes the move to the cloud (welcome to 2011, guys!), these companies and their online-based classrooms seem like the perfect match, where both sides would absolutely benefit.
The Rosetta Stone is an Ancient Egyptian artifact which was instrumental in advancing modern understanding of hieroglyphic writing. The stone is a Ptolemaic era stele with carved text. The text is made up of 3 translations of a single passage, written in two Egyptian language scripts (hieroglyphic and demotic), and in classical Greek.
Rosetta Stone is to shutter its remaining kiosk locations in the U.S. According to the company, the decision "accelerates a transition to cloud-based learning solutions."
