The Martinshorn (also known as the Martin's trumpet and Schalmei) is a German free reed aerophone created in 1880 by Max Bernhardt Martin, who was also the main manufacturer of the instruments. Martin Committee was the trademark name of the Martin Band Instrument Company's premier lines of trumpets, trombones and saxophones starting in the mid-1930s. All were produced in Elkhart, Indiana.
