Caroline B. Simmons (born February 10, 1986) is an American politician serving as the mayor of Stamford, Connecticut.A member of the Democratic Party, she previously served as State Representative for Connecticut's 144th District, where she was the youngest female legislator in Connecticut state office. Stamford is a village in Delaware County, New York, United States. The population was 1,119 at the 2010 census. [2] The village is located partly in the town of Stamford and partly in the town of Harpersfield. The village is on routes 23 and 10. The village has termed itself the "Queen of the Catskills".
The 2021 Stamford mayoral election was held on November 2, 2021. Incumbent Democratic mayor David Martin sought re-election to a third term in office, but lost renomination to state representative Caroline Simmons. Simmons, who was also endorsed by the Independent Party, faced unaffiliated candidate Bobby Valentine. [1]
