It is a two-story wood-frame structure, with a side gable roof, weatherboard siding, and a two-story porch sheltered by a projecting gable-roofed section.
The Ouachita National Forest is the oldest National Forest in the southern United States. The forest encompasses 1,784,457 acres (7,221 km 2), including most of the scenic Ouachita Mountain Range. Six locations in the forest, comprising 65,000 acres (263 km 2), have been congressionally-designated as wilderness areas.

It is located on the north side of Arkansas Highway 124, about 0.5 miles (0.80 km) east of the crossroads hamlet of Little Red. It is a single story structure, built out of horizontal wooden planking, nailed to 4x4 posts at the corners.
