My budget was around $200, or basically what a "high end" gaming keyboard would have cost. After doing research I decided on an Akko mod007, with Akko jelly blacks since they're supposed to be good stock and I didn't intend to lube or do any mods, and had pretty much 100% positive reviews.
I have a few Akko switches including Sponges. It was my first tactile switch and I have to say it was to hard for me and I didn't like that at all. Main difference is that tactile bump is way more pronounce. For me MX Browns feels like something in between of linear switches and Jelly Purple.
Akko Penguin Silent tactile switches assembled and disassembled. Travel distance/Stem length: 3.3mm, this is standard affair for silicone dampened switches. It is also long pole territory, but as the bottom out is a silicone dampener, there is always a bit of give. Therefore the travel does not feel as short as 3.3mm.
Akko switches are an MX switch and as long as the keycap is MX compatible, you don't need to worry about the profile. profile matters depending on the PCB and if you're using Cherry profile (north facing PCB with Cherry profile can have interference on regular stem length switches) some profiles can also have interference issues with the case ...
The new Akko CS Jellys have two small tabs on each side, at least the pinks definately do, so am assuming that's the mx style housing.Maybe the original CS switches without the dust protector on the stem use Kailh style housings?
The new akko switches that were annouced on 9th June. news. Sort by: Add a Comment. Anifanopinion. • 2 yr. ago. The crystal switch already shipped with their Alice board, but the two full pom switches look interesting and cool, hopefully, they are still at a similar budget price as their other ones. 13.
I'm very glad I could help, I'm sure you'll love em. Great review! I especially liked the comparison between the milky yellows and cream yellows. I had the misconception that the cream yellows were "thockier" than the milky yellows so thank you for clearing that up.
I've got both Akko Jelly Blacks (lubed with Krytox 205g0) and Gateron Pro Yellows (pre-lubed). IMO Gateron Yellows feel more "mushy"/"buttery" smooth but definitely feel slightly heavier to type on - more resistance before bottoming out. Jelly blacks are also extremely smooth but in a slightly different way - crispier, easier bottom out and ...
Only thing is that I am a bit confused on what switch I should get. I currently have a old prebuilt with cherry blue which are too loud. I looked onto Akko jelly blacks and jelly pinks, I have heard they are very similar but was wondering which would feel better for typing and some gaming from time to time.
What is the thockiest akko switch? Matcha greens. However, switches can be thockier than others but 87.88% of thock comes from the plate, case (what’s in the case) and yeah if you want basic thock try the tape and pe foam mod. I found radiant reds to be a little thockier than matcha greens on my board.
