The western part of the area was originally called Norway, and the larger area was once part of the Town of East Toronto. Cabbagetown is a neighbourhood in central Toronto, Ontario, Canada.Administratively, it is defined as part of the Cabbagetown-South St. Jamestown neighbourhood.
