Wijeya Newspapers Limited (WNL) is a Sri Lankan media company which publishes a number of national newspapers and magazines. Formerly known as Wijeya Publications Limited, WNL was founded in 1979 by Ranjith Wijewardene, son of media mogul D. R. Wijewardena.
Its sister newspaper are Sunday Observer, Silumina, Dinamina and Daily News. The daily newspaper has a circulation of 50,000 and its Sunday version, Thinakaran Varamanjari , 70,000 per issue. [ 1 ] [ 2 ]

Dinesh Weerawansa (born 17 June 1966) is a Sri Lankan editor-in chief for the Sunday Observer. He returned as editor-in-chief of the Sunday Observer in December 2019 for his second term. He held the position previously for nine years from 2006 to 2015.
