Phi Epsilon Pi (ΦΕΠ) 1961-1970. The Beta Delta chapter of Phi Epsilon Pi merged into Zeta Beta Tau in 1970, along with Phi Sigma Delta. The founding date is assumed to be 1961 because of the merger of Kappa Nu into Phi Epsilon Pi. Kappa Nu (ΚΝ) 1918-1962. Formed in 1918, the Kappa chapter of Kappa Nu merged into Phi Epsilon Pi in 1961.
Recently disbanded fraternity, Phi Omega Sigma (1913-2017) drew its members from the original Delta Tau Delta chapter, and re-formed as a local, traditionally the Fourth (VI) Section. The first fraternity houses at the University of Richmond were Phi Kappa Sigma and Kappa Sigma, which were built in 1928 and 1930, respectively. The other fraternities met in various rooms across the campus until the university began building lodges, starting in 1953 and ending in 1959.
In 1982 the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity at Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville (SIUE) bought the house and occupied it until the late 1990s. [6] In 1998 the Edwardsville Historic Preservation Committee received US$800,000 from the state of Illinois, $500,000 of which they used to buy the Stephenson House from the fraternity. [10]
