Rio del Mar (Spanish: Río del Mar, meaning "River of the Sea") is an unincorporated village in Santa Cruz County, California. Rio del Mar is one of several small villages that form the unincorporated community of Aptos, California. [3] Its population was 9,128 as of the 2020 United States census. [2]
It is bordered to the north and east by Jensen Beach and to the northwest by part of the Stuart city limits. According to the United States Census Bureau, the Rio CDP has a total area of 0.9 square miles (2.3 km 2), of which 0.4 square miles (1.0 km 2) are land and 0.5 square miles (1.3 km 2), or 58.19%, are water.
