The Eastern Shore of Virginia is the easternmost region of the Commonwealth of Virginia in the United States. It consists of two counties ( Accomack and Northampton ) on the Atlantic coast. It is detached from the mainland of Virginia by the Chesapeake Bay .

The Eastern Shore of Maryland is a part of the U.S. state of Maryland that lies mostly on the east side of the Chesapeake Bay. Nine counties are normally included in the region. The Eastern Shore is part of the larger Delmarva Peninsula that Maryland shares with Delaware and Virginia.
The Eastern Shore is composed of three municipalities, Spanish Fort, Daphne and Fairhope. [1] All three of those municipalities are located inside Baldwin County . Three smaller communities, Montrose , Barnwell , and Point Clear are also often included in the region.
The Eastern Shore District is a high school conference that competes in A Region A of the Virginia High School League.The district is located in the Eastern Shore of Virginia which is isolated in the Delmarva Peninsula from the rest of the Commonwealth which include all the public schools in Accomack County and Northampton County.
Fisherman Island National Wildlife Refuge is located near the United States Fish and Wildlife Service's Eastern Shore of Virginia National Wildlife Refuge, and is cut in half by the presence of U.S. Highway 13 and the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. The refuge is closed to the public.
