In 2015, a theatrical production called The Tale of Mr Tumble was performed. Starring Justin Fletcher as Mr Tumble and Ronni Ancona as The Unsmiling Principle, the show sees the Mr Tumble character as a baby and as a young boy, and follows him throughout his early life. [5] A filmed version of The Tale of Mr Tumble aired on CBeebies in March 2016.
Justin Fletcher MBE (born 15 June 1970) [1] [2] is an English children's television presenter, actor and comedian, known for mainly appearing on CBeebies. [3] Speaking and performing in various, often self-created, roles, he specialises in slapstick comedy and works with children with special educational needs through his show Something Special.
A pilot was written in 2012, and 6 episodes were commissioned by Controller of BBC One Danny Cohen and Controller of Comedy Commissioning Shane Allen in Spring 2013. The series was written and filmed across 2013 and 2014. The first episode aired on BBC Two on 1 March 2015. [3]

Episodes 1–10 were broadcast on Thursdays and Fridays from 8 October – 6 November 2016. Episode 11 was a Christmas special that was broadcast on 24 December 2016. Episodes 12–20 were broadcast on Thursdays and Fridays from 25 February – 25 March 2017. Episode 20 was a special episode that contained highlights from the series.
