It consists entirely of the Edison Park neighborhood , and is named after Thomas Alva Edison , [ 3 ] who gave his blessing to this community namesake in 1890.
The area is immediately adjacent to the much larger and better-known Boston-Edison Historic District, which is on the west side of Woodward Avenue, and also close to the Atkinson Avenue which is just south of Boston-Edison.
