The Diocese of Saint Cloud (Latin: Dioecesis Sancti Clodoaldi) is a Latin Church diocese of the Catholic Church in central Minnesota in the United States. It is a suffragan diocese of the metropolitan Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis. The mother church of the Diocese of Saint Cloud is the Cathedral of St. Mary in St. Cloud.
It was rebuilt without its tall spire, which led Bishop Joseph Francis Busch to desire St. Mary's as his cathedral. The Holy Angels Cathedral still stands today, and was renovated and turned into Holy Angels Performing Arts Center for Cathedral High School. In 1937 Pope Pius XI named St. Mary's the cathedral of the St. Cloud Diocese. [4]
