MelroseWakefield Hospital (formerly Melrose-Wakefield Hospital), a Level II trauma center, is located to the south of Wakefield in nearby Melrose (approximately 3.2 miles (5.1 km) south of the Town Center and 1.5 miles (2.4 km) south of Greenwood) and serves both the town of Wakefield and city of Melrose.
