Gulf Breeze is a city in Santa Rosa County, Florida.It is located between Downtown Pensacola and Pensacola Beach, and is part of the Pensacola Metropolitan Area.The population was 6,340 at the 2020 census, up from 5,763 at the 2010 census.
The Fairpoint Peninsula, [1] also referred to as the Gulf Breeze Peninsula or the Navarre Peninsula [2] or historically the Santa Rosa Peninsula, [3] is located in northwest Florida between Santa Rosa Sound (the location of the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway's route through the region) and Pensacola Bay.
The highway lands on the Fairpoint Peninsula in Gulf Breeze. It passes Gulf Breeze High School before it turns to the east. On the opposite end of the eastward curve is a trumpet interchange with Pensacola Beach Boulevard, which heads south to Pensacola Beach. East of Gulf Breeze, US 98 goes through the Naval Live Oaks Reservation.
It is considered to be a part of Gulf Breeze. The population was 3,342 at the 2020 census , [ 4 ] up from 3,090 at the 2010 census . [ 1 ] It is part of the Pensacola — Ferry Pass — Brent, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area .
It runs from U.S. Highway 98 (Gulf Breeze Parkway) east of Gulf Breeze north to U.S. Highway 90 just west of Milton. The portion of the road south of Interstate 10 is signed "TOLL 281" to reflect the inclusion of the Garcon Point Bridge, which has a $5.00 per crossing toll. [citation needed]

The Emerald Coast is an unofficial name for the coastal area in the US state of Florida on the Gulf of Mexico that stretches about 100 miles (160 km) through five counties, Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, Walton, and Bay, which include Pensacola Beach, Navarre Beach, Fort Walton Beach, Destin, and Panama City Beach.
Currently, the land comprises over 1,300 acres (5.3 km 2) in the Gulf Islands National Seashore and is owned by the Department of the Interior, National Park Service. U.S. Route 98 goes through the southern portion of the land. To the south of Highway 98 is a visitor's center for the Gulf Islands National Seashore and some public beach areas.
