Connect Airways was a consortium formed in December 2018 [1] to acquire the British regional airline Flybe, [2] which had put itself up for sale in November 2018 after issuing a profit warning the previous month, [3] The consortium comprised Virgin Atlantic and the Irish wet-lease specialist airline Stobart Air.

The consortium's aim is to combine Flybe and Stobart Air with Virgin Atlantic to create an integrated carrier operating under the Virgin Atlantic brand. Flybe and Stobart Air would however retain their own Air Operator Certificates [44] and Stobart Air's other wet lease operations and its aircraft leasing business would continue unchanged. [45]
