It is located in the northern Black Rock, St. Michael close to the University of the West Indies campus adjacent to the Usain Bolt Sports Complex. The collection includes manuscripts, letters, reports, books, maps, charts and photographs. [1]

[1] Headquartered in the capital-city Bridgetown, the main branch was located on Coleridge Street. It was constructed between 1903 and 1906, funded by a grant donated by Scottish-American philanthropist, Andrew Carnegie.

The West Indies Federal Archives Centre is the official depository of records from the defunct West Indies Federation. [1] The centre was opened in 2004, and is part of the University of the West Indies at Cave Hill in Barbados. Prior to the centre's opening, the West Indies archives were held by the Barbados National Archives.
