MindSpot’s remit is to improve access to mental health services, improve public awareness of how to access services and provide evidence-based treatments. [4]MindSpot offers two services – screening assessments and treatment courses – to help people learn about and manage stress, anxiety, low mood, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder and chronic pain.

The department's research focuses on antisocial behaviour as it appears in people with either major mental disorders or personality disorders. The department is closely allied to the Forensic Psychiatry Teaching Unit.
Telepsychology is the use of telemedicine within the practice of psychotherapy, wherein a medical professional uses online tools to assist patients. [ 1 ] [ 2 ] Some tools may include, but are not limited to: Zoom (software) , Skype , email, online chatting, Oovoo , text-messaging, phone call, or using a smart phone app.
