Dallas College North Lake Campus (often referred to as North Lake or NLC) is a public community college in Irving, Texas. It is part of Dallas College . It opened in 1977 and enrolls about 5,000 credit students and an additional 3,000 continuing education students.
In 2020, the Dallas County Community College District announced that it would merge its seven constituent institutions, including North Lake College, into a single institution, Dallas College. [6] Following the merger, North Lake College was renamed to Dallas College North Lake Campus.
Dallas College was founded as the Dallas County Junior College District in 1965, and became known as the Dallas County Community College District (DCCCD) in 1972. The first campus, El Centro College, was established in 1966 in downtown Dallas. Bill J. Priest served as the founding chancellor from 1965 until his retirement in 1981. [5]

It has a campus for 9th and 10th grade students at the main campus at North Lake College in Irving and will have a campus for 11th and 12th grade students in the future. Under Texas law, DISD can have operations, including schools, outside of its own boundaries, and North Lake College is not in the DISD boundaries. [1]
