Chisago County (/ ʃ ɪ ˈ s ɑː ɡ oʊ / shi-SAH-goh) [2] is a county in the east-central part of the U.S. state of Minnesota.The county covers an area of 442 square miles (1,140 square kilometers) and, as of the 2020 Census, had a population of 56,621 people.
The average household size was 2.54 and the average family size was 3.06. In the city, the population was spread out, with 26.3% under the age of 18, 11.9% from 18 to 24, 33.9% from 25 to 44, 14.2% from 45 to 64, and 13.7% who were 65 years of age or older.

Franconia Township is located in the southeast corner of Chisago County, on the west side of the St. Croix River, which forms the Wisconsin–Minnesota border. To the north are Shafer Township and the city of Shafer, to the north and west is Chisago Lake Township, and to the south in Washington County is the city of Scandia.
The average household size was 2.89 and the average family size was 3.21. In the township the population was spread out, with 30.3% under the age of 18, 5.4% from 18 to 24, 31.4% from 25 to 44, 25.1% from 45 to 64, and 7.8% who were 65 years of age or older.
