Another early Gibson County settler was William Hargrove, who came from Kentucky by pack mule in 1803; Captain Hargrove commanded a company of militia from Gibson County at the Battle of Tippecanoe in 1811. Columbia Township is one of ten townships in Gibson County, Indiana. As of the 2020 census, its population was 3,539 (down from 3,830 at 2010 [3]) and it contained 1,757 housing units. [4] Oakland City is the township seat. Columbia Township was established in 1825. [5]
Wabash Township is one of ten townships in Gibson County, Indiana, United States. As of the 2020 census, its population was 52 (up from 30 at 2010 [3]) and it contained 22 housing units. [4] Wabash Township has no organized seat within the township, as the only settlement is in two river camps Crawleyville and Jimtown.
