Northcote (/ ˈ n ɔːr θ k oʊ t / NORTH-koat [3] or / ˈ n ɔːr θ k ə t / NORTH-kət) (Māori: Te Onewa) [4] is a suburb of Auckland in northern New Zealand.It is situated on the North Shore, on the northern shores of Waitematā Harbour, 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) northwest of the Auckland City Centre.
In 1902, the Birkenhead and Northcote Gas Company established a gasworks at Little Shoal Bay. [9] By the 1920s, the gas works had become the biggest sole employer for the Northcote Borough, [17] and in the 1950s the gasworks was shut down. [9] Boatbuilder Jim Young established his first boatyard at Little Shoal Bay in Birkenhead in the 1940s. [18]

St Dominic's College, Henderson is an integrated college for girls in Year 7 to Year 13 located in Henderson, Auckland, New Zealand, 25 kilometres from downtown Auckland City. The College was founded by the Dominican Sisters in 1952 in Northcote, Auckland. The school was transferred to Henderson in 1968.
