Originally built for N.B. Holway in 1892. Mr. Holway was a Lumber Baron and Local Businessman. The Diocese of La Crosse purchased the residence in 1921 for the Bishop of La Crosse. It later served as a Seminary and finally was being used as a Convent by the late 1950s. The Diocese sold the property in 1974.
