University College London (branded as UCL [7] [8] [9]) is a public research university in London, England. It is a member institution of the federal University of London, and is the second-largest university in the United Kingdom by total enrolment [10] and the largest by postgraduate enrolment.
The opening of The Complete Guide to Parenting (2006) uses scenes shot in UCL's Front Quad. Some scenes from certain episodes were also filmed here. Britz, a serial made by Channel 4 (2007) uses many parts of UCL: the Main Library, and parts of the Cloisters are used for cadaver dissection rooms.

UCL's foundation date of 1826 makes it the third oldest university institution in England, and it was certainly founded with the intention of it being England's third university, but whether or not UCL is actually the third oldest university in England is questionable: UCL makes this claim on its website, [5] but so do the Universities of London (1836) [6] and Durham (1832). [7]
Carmalt was made a Royal Society Dorothy Hodgkin Research Fellow at University College London in 1997. She has held many positions at UCL, including lecturer, professor, vice dean and eventually Head of Department. When she was made Head of Department in 2016 she was the first woman to hold the position. [3] [4]
A.J. Clark. A.J. Clark, FRS (1885–1941) [9] held the established Chair of Pharmacology from 1918 to 1926. After qualifying in medicine, and serving as a field medical officer throughout the First World War, Clark had been appointed Professor of Pharmacology at the University of Cape Town where he remained until accepting the Chair of Pharmacology at UCL in 1920.
