Krantivira Sangolli Rayanna Railway Station (formerly known as City Railway Station) is an underground metro station on the East-West corridor of the Purple Line of Namma Metro which serves the Subhash Nagar area, Sevashrama area in Bangalore, India. It was opened to the public on 30 April 2016.
The station is now renovated with a larger platform. Adjacent to the railway station is the Bangalore East Football Grounds, which nowadays is more used for playing cricket. [1] [2] Well-known cartoonist Paul Fernandes remembers as a young boy befriending train drivers at this station and getting grease for his bicycle. [3]
