He acted in more than 100 plays and 150 television shows, [1] and is best known for his role as corrupt politician Jefferson Davis "Boss" Hogg in the television show The Dukes of Hazzard.
In the back of the restaurant is an office where Boss Hogg conducts many of his crooked business schemes. Hughie's seemingly flawless plots always ended in disaster, and Boss Hogg would throw him out of Hazzard at the end of the episode.
