To copy a footnote, follow these steps: Highlight the footnote reference mark in your document. Press Ctrl+C. The footnote reference mark and the associated footnote are copied to the Clipboard. Position the insertion point at the location where you want to copy the footnote. Press Ctrl+V.
In reply to glendgilbert's post on August 6, 2014. A possible workaround would be to copy the footnote text from the footnote area and then paste as plain text in the target document. This will clear the malfunctioning footnote numbers. You can select and apply a list number format to text, if you wish. Stefan Blom.
In the "Footnotes" section, click the "Insert Footnote" button. This automatically adds a little number to the text and takes you to the footer section of the page so you can add the footnote.
