    Craig Seeman. This COW post mentions that FCP7 can run on High Sierra. I’ve heard that “Retroactive” mentioned in that post allows it to also work on Mojave. If you have access to a Mac running either macOS Mojave or macOS High Sierra, you can get more. Macs running those systems can also install Final Cut Pro 7, Logic Pro 9, and iWork ’09.

    I had tried both menu and keyboard shortcuts. Tried reinstalling FCP X 10.0.9 on my iMac that I have Mountain Lion on (to force it to install 10.0.9) No love. Still the same problem. My event library is just gone. Trying to restore to a Time Machine backup now.

    Locate the Final Cut Pro application and drag it to the Trash. In Finder, hold down the Option key and choose Library from the Go menu. In the Library folder that opens, open the Application Support folder. Move the Final Cut Pro folder to the Trash. Return to the Library folder and open the Caches folder.

    Grid overlay for the Viewer? Someone had the camcorder at an angle of about 5 or so degrees all the time – duh! To get it straight it would be SO helpful to be able to turn on some sort of grid overlay in the viewer window rather than having to get a ruler out and measure the distances from the uprights in the image from the edges of the screen.

    From Premiere Pro, export an XML of the main sequence. Then use SendToX from Intelligent Assistance to convert Premiere’s XML format into FCP’s FCPXML format. Then import the new FCPXML into a Final Cut Pro event.
