We have a lake house at Lake Royale in Bunn. That is in the same county as Louisburg and I found it to be a pretty nice place to live. I stayed at the Lake House briefly in 1991 while I was waiting for my Social Security disability benefits to be approved.

Which benefits were they, as the UK economy seems to be doing better than most of Europe. In reality it's the pandemic that caused most of the global economic problems including record debt not seen since WW2, whilst energy crisis and trading restrictions related to the conflict in Ukraine and now the Middle East have only managed to compound the economic misery.
If a family member wanted to buy them an easier to use phone, I don't see the problem with that. I am not on disability, and the phone is the only thing I get from the government. And I paid my taxes the 30+ years I've worked without ever once asking for a hand out.
