Oklahoma County is a county located in the central part of the U.S. state of Oklahoma. As of the 2020 census, the population was 796,292, [1] making it the most populous county in Oklahoma. The county seat is Oklahoma City, [2] the state capital and largest city. Oklahoma County is at the heart of the Oklahoma City metropolitan statistical area.
By the mid-1950s, the federal government had outgrown its courtroom and office space in Oklahoma City in the 1912 U.S. Post Office and Courthouse. Judge Alfred P. Murrah spearheaded the effort to secure funding for a new federal building and courthouse to be constructed directly north of the existing building.
The town encompasses three-tenths of a square mile and is bounded by Oklahoma City on the west side and by Del City on the North, East and South. [4] In 1952 when Del City attempted to annex the addition, its residents decided to incorporate which was done by a vote in November 1952. [ 4 ]
Jollyville is a neighborhood in the northern part of Austin, Texas, United States. In 2010 it was a census-designated place (CDP) in Travis and Williamson counties, but has since been annexed by Austin. [citation needed] The population of the CDP was 16,151 at the 2010 census.
