The team fights and defeats Savage's men but fails to capture Savage. Ray leaves a piece of his suit behind, changing history. The team goes to retrieve a device to locate the piece, created by a young Martin Stein in 1975. Ray, Leonard and Mick steal the Amon Dagger, the only weapon that can kill the two Thanagarians but are captured by Savage.
