Himawari asks him to buy a plush based on the fox Kurama but they are unable to find it in any store with Naruto confusing one with Shukaku. As Naruto and Himawari keep searching for a Kurama, they meet Kiba Inuzuka who got a toy but they instead realize a ninja abandoned his mission to take it from him.
Boruto and Shinki bring Shukaku to the Hidden Leaf Village. Upon arriving at the Uzumaki home, Himawari is completely taken with him, but Shukaku finds the entire situation irritating. When told about the day Naruto became the Seventh Hokage - and how Himawari hurt Naruto and Kurama - Shukaku comes up with an idea.
Himawari finds Mitsuki and Boruto, and tells them about how she and her friends began tracking suspicious individuals, so Boruto and Mitsuki decide to help out. Meanwhile, Naruto entices Kawaki with the promise of various ninjutsu displays in order to make him watch the exam.

Himawari prepares Kawaki for the tea party. At the party, Eiki calls out Kawaki as the others are appalled by his presence. Kawaki and Himawari try to convince the others, that the former loves tea and all kinds of sweets. Himawari boasts about Gaara being close friends with Naruto and coming over often.
Having managed to kidnap Naruto for Kurama's extraction, the pair are confronted by a group of ninja arriving to rescue Naruto. Realizing that they are overwhelmed, Kinshiki breaks through his binding by the Kage and turns himself into a red pill for his master to consume, enhancing the latter's powers although Momoshiki is soon killed.
Arriving home, Kawaki gives the vase to Himawari, while Boruto slips glue into Kawaki's hand, to simply fix the broken vase. On the outskirts of the village, Delta and Koji arrive.
