Wayne G. Sayles (born March 8, 1943) is an American numismatist and author, who specializes in ancient numismatics, especially coins of Cilicia, which is located in modern-day Turkey. He is a numismatic and military author, having published or contributed to hundreds of books, articles, and papers.
The Celator was a monthly magazine covering ancient coins and the ancient coin market. [1] [2] It was founded in 1987 by coin dealer Wayne Sayles in a newsprint format. [3] The Celator was then edited and published by Kerry Wetterstrom in magazine format. [4] From 1988 to 1995 a yearly Best of The Celator was printed.
