The Single Window Admissions System is used in Anna University for TNEA (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission). [1] [2] It is popularly known as Anna University Counselling.It is part of the process through which students completing 12th standard apply and gain admission to engineering colleges within Tamil Nadu, India.
Once in the counselling room, there are around 40 terminals at which students can make their choice. Each terminal has a person who assists the student in the counselling. When a student is allotted a terminal, the student is supposed to enter their top three choices. Before doing this, the student can check up on seat status of various colleges.
A common entrance test – the Tamil Nadu Professional Courses Entrance Examination (TNPCEE) – was used as a basis for admission to professional courses in the state until 2006. [7]
