The following is a complete episode list for the criminal dramedy television series Monk. It premiered on the USA Network on July 12, 2002 in the United States and ended with a two-part series finale on November 27 and December 4, 2009. The complete series has a total of 125 episodes, including three 2-part episodes and four Christmas specials.

Monk, Sharona, Stottlemeyer, and Disher fly to New York in order to pursue a lead in Trudy's murder. They are sidetracked into helping the NYPD solve the shooting death of a foreign ambassador in a hotel elevator and a woman's mugging in Central Park, with Monk briefly getting lost in the city as he ponders the importance of a wet overcoat.
D. B. Woodside entered in the same episode as Monk's physician, Dr. Matthew Shuler. Alona Tal made an appearance in the final episode as Trudy's daughter, Molly Evans. Bitty Schram made a special appearance as Sharona Fleming, Monk's former nurse (Schram was a former cast member, who left during the third season).
In the final episode of the series, “Mr. Monk and the End (Part 2),” Monk finally finds his long-sought-after answers about his wife Trudy’s mysterious murder.
Sarah Silverman returned as Monk's number-one fan and founder of the Monk-o-Philes, Marci Maven, after a three season hiatus. Silverman earned an Emmy nomination for this role. Tim Bagley reprised his role as Harold Krenshaw, Monk's number-one rival. Cody McMains also returned for a second appearance as Troy Kroger, Dr. Kroger's teenage son.
David Hoberman was the first to sign on to the ABC project, pitching a show about a "cop with obsessive-compulsive disorder." [1] He then invited Andy Breckman to become the show's creator; Breckman accepted the offer, and would ultimately serve as the showrunner of Monk throughout its entire eight-season run.
