Zinedine Yazid Zidane (French: Zinédine Yazid Zidane; [4] Kabyle: Zineddin Lyazid Zidan; Arabic: زين الدين يزيد زيدان; born 23 June 1972), popularly known as Zizou, is a French professional football manager and former player who played as an attacking midfielder.

Participating teams have to register squads for each edition of the World Cup, which consisted of 22 players until 1998, then of 23 players from 2002 to 2018, and then of 26 players in 2022.
The tournament was played in France from 10 June to 12 July 1998 and featured 32 teams divided into eight groups of four. Each team was required to submit a squad of 22 players – numbered sequentially from 1 to 22 – from whom they would select their teams for each match at the tournament, with the final squads to be submitted by 1 June 1998.
