Othello (/ oʊ ˈ θ ɛ l oʊ /) is a city in Adams County, Washington, United States. The population was 8,549 at the 2020 census , [ 3 ] a 16 percent increase from 2010. It is located in the heart of the Columbia Basin Project , approximately 100 miles (160 km) southwest of Spokane .
Adams County's two most populous cities are Ritzville and Othello. Ritzville is located in the northeastern corner of the county at the junction of I-90 and US 395, making it a popular stop for travelers. Ritzville is an hour's drive from Spokane. Othello is located in the southwestern panhandle of the county.
Drumheller Channels connects the Quincy Basin, which lies to north, with the Othello Basin on the south. It can be reached most easily from Othello, Washington approximately 8 km (5.0 mi) northwest on McManamon Road, then north on Morgan Lake Road which passes through the Drumheller Channels region.
