Marshall Field & Company (commonly known as Marshall Field's) was an upscale department store in Chicago, Illinois. Founded in the 19th century, it grew to become a large chain before Macy's, Inc , acquired it in 2005.
The mall opened on July 11, 1997 with Sears, Lazarus, Marshall Field's, and JCPenney as anchor stores. In 2003, Lazarus was rebranded Lazarus-Macy's, and the original Marshall Field's became Kaufmann's in February 2003. Lazarus-Macy’s became Macy’s in March 2005.
