The Happy Station Show was one of the world's longest-running international radio programmes, having originated in 1928 on shortwave radio and airing its final edition on 27 December 2020. [ 1 ] The original show followed a format of light entertainment , special guests, music, and information about Dutch life.
The show originated on Philips Radio's PCJJ shortwave station in 1928, continuing until 1940. After World War II Radio Netherlands broadcast the show from 1946 until it terminated in 1995. Producer and presenter Keith Perron of Taiwan-based PCJ Media revived Happy Station from 2009 until 2020.

Phillips was born on 11 April 1887 in Farncombe, Surrey. [2] The son of George Alfred Phillips, a draper and Ann Phillips (née Sanders), Phillips' family originally came from Trowbridge, Wiltshire, from a lineage of weavers, but moved to Farncombe around 1883. [2]
