Pascagoula (/ p æ s k ə ɡ u l ə / PASS-kuh-GOOL-uh) is a city in and the county seat of Jackson County, Mississippi, United States. [3] It is the principal city of the Pascagoula metropolitan area, and is part of the Gulfport–Biloxi–Pascagoula Combined Statistical Area and the Gulfport-Biloxi metropolitan area.

[3] Jackson County is included in the Pascagoula, MS Metropolitan Statistical Area. It is located at the southeastern tip of the state. The county has sandy soil and is in the Piney Woods area.
The current CDP is 5 miles (8 km) north of the center of Moss Point and 9 miles (14 km) north of Pascagoula, the Jackson county seat. Mississippi Highway 613 is the main road through the center of Escatawpa, and four-lane Mississippi Highway 63 forms the eastern edge of the community.
