It begins at the Elliott Highway , north of Fairbanks , and ends at Deadhorse (an unincorporated community within the CDP of Prudhoe Bay ) near the Arctic Ocean and the Prudhoe Bay Oil Fields .
James W. Dalton's father was John "Jack" Dalton (June 25, 1856 in Bruce County/Ontario – December 16, 1944 in San Francisco) who in 1880 migrated from Canada to Alaska.
