State Highway 97 was originally commissioned on February 3, 1952. [1] At this time, the highway extended from Sapulpa (at its present-day southern terminus, where it intersected what was then US-66) to the southern SH-51 junction, which also carried US-64 (as the Keystone Expressway had not yet been built).
