The Bear River Lake Resort on the northwestern shore offers fishing, camping and boating. On the north shore, built into the cliffs, is Camp Ritchie, used as a summer camp and owned by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. On the south shore lies Camp Winton, a summer camp of the Boy Scouts of America. [2]
The park is at the eastern terminus of the Bear River Greenway, a trail system developed by the city that connects the park with downtown Evanston.
