It is located approximately 45-kilometre (28 mi) south of Kuala Lumpur, close to Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
The 3.305 km (2.054 mi) winded through central Kuala Lumpur and was designed to showcase the city to the world via television broadcasts of the event.
