Early life and education. Amanpour was born in the West London suburb of Ealing, the daughter of Mohammad Taghi Amanpour (Iranian) and Anne Patricia Hill (British). [1][4] She was baptized at the Church of Saint Benedict in Ealing and was raised in Tehran until the age of eleven. [5][6] Her father was Shia Muslim and her mother was Roman Catholic.
