Barbara Alice Waring Gibb was born on 1 August 1911 in Kent, England, the daughter of Dr. J. A. Gibb. [1] She attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, [2] and was an actress in the 1930s and 1940s. In the late 1930s she married Laurence A. Evans, a theatrical agent. [1]

Robin Hugh Gibb was born on 22 December 1949 in Jane Crookall Maternity Home in Douglas, Isle of Man, [11] to Barbara Gibb (née Pass) and Hugh Gibb. He was the fraternal twin of Maurice Gibb and was the older of the two by 35 minutes. Apart from Maurice, he had one sister, Lesley Evans, and two brothers, Barry and Andy. [12]
