Vertigo is a 1958 American psychological thriller film directed and produced by Alfred Hitchcock.The story was based on the 1954 novel D'entre les morts (From Among the Dead) by Boileau-Narcejac, with a screenplay by Alec Coppel and Samuel A. Taylor.
Publisher Microids and developer Pendulo Studios first announced Vertigo in March 2018, during the production of Blacksad: Under the Skin. [3] Rock, Paper, Shotgun reported that Microids had licensed director Alfred Hitchcock's "name and likeness", [4] and Microids revealed that the game would be "loosely" inspired by his film Vertigo, primarily in aesthetic and theme. The upcoming "Alfred Hitchcock – Vertigo" video game will feature an original story inspired by the classic film.
Vertigo, for better or worse, has gained an iconic status among films, and if I rent a film camera and make a film called Citizen Kane which somehow gains its own Wikipedia page, I would assume and take for granted that it will, at best, become a member of a disamb page which would itself become a hatnote on the page of the iconic Orson Welles ...
Bernard Herrmann's score for Vertigo consists of 42 cues, which comprise about 74 minutes of music heard in the film. (The small bits of source music used in the film, such as the Mozart piece heard on Midge's phonograph or the music Scottie and Judy dance to late in the film, were not composed by Herrmann and are therefore not considered as part of the score.)
