For the brushmower I would go with the DR. I own the large one with the 30" deck and 18 hp kaw. engine. It has been reliable and will mow over any heavy growth. The billy goat was no doubt a well built unit. But a smaller engine and deck were not to my liking. I also do a lot of ditch mowing and needed a pivoting deck.
Cutting capacity is limited to 1" or so max. It will mow pretty much whatever it can push over, but thats the problem. The open differential sucks when mowing woody brush. It will crawl up the trunk, but not have enough traction or weight to finish the job. You can cut thicker but its a lot more work.
I have the 18hp Billy goat. Point and shoot is awesome and allows you to move the big piles further. I do wish I had the self propelled unit especially when it comes to hills. I have a Little Wonder 13 hp Honda, its around 10 years old now, its been rock solid, very little needed beside regular maintenance.
I rent them from time to time on small jobs. Mostly in wooded areas or places you can't get a tractor. The billy goats are just like a mini bush hog. Not going to set any speed records but way faster than a trimmer with a brush blade and any of my guys can run it without problems.

I ran the Outback 200 yards to the fence and used it about 30 minutes before the belt that drives the wheels broke.

Cat tail will grow back, unless you pull out the root....BTW certain parts of the cat tail are edible! Reply Like. G. Grass Shark. 663 posts · Joined 2009.

The kawi twin will give you more power then the honda or briggs engine on the billy goat. The hydro drive is a lot easier because there is no shifting between forward and reverse. Not to mention the giant vac has a ...
Hello, I recently purchased a Billy Goat FM3000 that was slightly used. I have loved how it has performed, but I am having starting issues. I thought the spark plug was the problem, so I replaced it and that did not help. It has a the proper amount of oil and the air filter is clean. When I pull the recoil start, it does not turn over.
Barely used Billy Goat walk behind brush cutter. Its basically a walk behind bushhog. Only used couple of times clearing around cell towers. Located about 60 miles north of New Orleans La. Zip 70438 Ignore date on picture - camera defaults to that date when memory card removed and did not set date. 13 hp Honda engine - starts on first pull ...
First time using a walk behind brush cutter. Next Tuesday I have a small farm that needs to be brush cut. I'm renting a walk behind brush cutter from an equipment company for $60 a day (a snapper 42 ' cut, or I could go with a billy goat 42' for an extra $10). I've never used these machines.
